No matter what content I am playing, no matter what the market is like, how much gold I have, how much time I have, etc – there is always one market that I keep coming back to. It is also a market that is so seriously over looked or easily forgotten about.

That market is Limited Supply.

Everground first published his “Everground’s 1000G / HOUR Limited Supply Item Guide *20 Minute Video Included*” which focuses more on limited supply items found in the old world pre-bc content. Some of it has been changed around a little bit with Cataclysm’s Expansion, but most of it stays the same.

I decided to take it a step further later on and publish my own Limited Supply Guide: “[Limited Supply Guide] 94g/minute (~5639g/hour) | Video + Text Guide Included”

I still make a rather healthy – and constant! – amount of gold each week using these two methods. If you aren’t doing this, forgot about it or never tried. I highly recommend that you get to it!

**** the fakers

I signed a contract for my office space not too long ago and since then I’ve been working on getting my internet connected. This lead me to talk to some of my classmates about internet speeds. Because I run an internet company we need one thing, and that’s a good, and fast internet connection. There’s an ISP in my country that gives you a 120/10 internet connection which is very decent. I told him that that was probably the internet connection I would get (and days later ordered). As he laughed he said “You know what my internet connection is?”, which was a stupid question because no, of course not. To know that I’d have to actually know the guy, or his ISP, or his ****ing house. I didn’t know and I didn’t care but I was fairly sure that he was going to tell me… Which he did.
“I can download 10GB in less than two minutes dude”. I smiled at him and excused myself. I had to spend the day working and I didn’t have time to chat.

As I left the building I thought about what he said. 10 Gigabytes in less than two minutes. I started calculating.
Two gigabytes is 10240 Megabytes
Two minutes is 120 seconds
2048/120 = 85.3MB/S
Right, this guy was downloading on 85.3MB/s. I didn’t believe him so the day after I asked him what kind of internet connection he really had. He answered me with a simple “Oh, we have a nice 200mbit/s line” which would have been great for him if that actually existed in my country. Even then, 200mbit/s, and downloading at 85MB/s? No way.

This little story got me to thinking how much people bullshit others and themselves in ways that they know they’ll look foolish for.

Lines like “I made 120,000$ this week” or “I got offered an internship at Apple, and they’re paying me 100,000$ a year. I don’t even have a degree!” are such obvious bullshit that I wonder if these people stand to think. Is it just that they’re kids (like I was, not too long ago.) or do they think that stuff like this sells to people that know about business and tech?

Blegh, this is just my little rant because I can’t stand this anymore. I used to do it (of course less obviously retarded, and actually based on truth or real belief) but I grew over it. Will these people ever grow over it or are they going to look at the world with their ****ed up vision? I’m not sure and I’m not going to try to find out.

THOR Review

I saw this movie at the Camino Real Cinemas in Goleta. I attended this movie with Jennike and Garrett, who were very fun and a great couple to hang out with. Now that we’ve settled in with the mood and where we saw it, lets get to the actual review.

The movie started out great, it’s hard to make a review without producing any spoilers so I’ll be very subjective with my words. The movie started out with comedy, and the comedy was steady through out the entire movie, so the laughter was a great addition to this action packed flick. As the movie went on, you noticed a dramatic change in the feeling of the movie, it went from bad ass kicking ass THOR to sappy love story that made it seem like a Disney movie. Through out the entire showing you were on an emotional roller coaster, you were going up and down and up and down and didn’t know whether it was going to stop, or if the ride was going to be endless. In this case, the roller coaster was endless. I personally don’t really love adding a sappy love story to something that is meant to be god-like and bad ass, the two just don’t fit together.

As the movie went on you started to feel less interaction with the movie, and it felt more comedic than it did action packed or dramatic. They did cast a lot of great actors in this film, actors and actresses such as Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, and Chris Hemsworth. They all played their parts respectively and did as what was expected, but Portman also known as “Jane” in the movie, seemed to play her role more than what was needed. I am speculating that it wasn’t her doing it, but more so what the producers wanted her to do. Anthony Hopkins role was superb and I wouldn’t want him to change a thing. He played Odin as well as any other person. He has played in many great films such as Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Red Dragon. Odin was wise, peace-keeping and a warm-hearted character who had only good intentions for Thor. Chris Hemsworth was awesome! He looked like a legitimate Thor, but leaning more so to the pretty boy thor. His character looked great as well, and he played the part wonderfully. One of the actors I didn’t mention was Jason Camp, he played an AMAZING role as well. He played as the Einherjar Guard who was also known as the “Gatekeeper”.

The movie had respectable actors, great story behind it, and not enough action. The story they had to work with was endless, it could have been amazing, but I give it a 6-7/10 stars, leaning more towards a 6. The movie was fun to watch, great sound with everything, but it just felt like it progressively got worse over time. The beginning was amazing when they were showing Thor and how how came to be in the story line, and after that point you didn’t see any great action til about midway through or at the very end. In between was just them trying to cling onto Thor and Jane. Hopefully my review was of some form of help to you guys, I’m hoping I’m just not cold-hearted and don’t like the sappy love part of the movies like this. All in all, go see it, don’t just pirate it, it’s worth the $7.50 if you see the matinee’s. Just don’t buy the overpriced popcorn/candy/soda! 😛

Hello, hello and hello. Its been a while since I released any news so lets talk about how the development went
Firs of all sorry for the time beeing “away” – as you can guess there is a big world outside of my office. As any big thing the world is taking alot of time and work to get rid of it.
Besides that it happend that the core-code of Tintai still have alot of changes that come along from time to time. Thats good for the tool, of course, but it is also (of course!) a **** of work that need to be done in order to get everything working. And in a good way.

State of Development
Current Object: Injection Tool
Phase: Testing (Beta)
3D-Data Import: Vertex,Normals,TextureCoordinates,Surfaces
Collision Import: None. a) no collision b) every surface is in one big collision object
Indoor,Outdoor,Portals: Only outdoor atm. No Portals.
Multiple WMO Files: Yes – Separated by OBJ Groups

Materials/Effects: Nothing so far. Theres a lot of reverse eng. needed ..
Doodad(Sets)/Objects: Need to be done in a separate and visual tool
Water/Fog: Not done/Planed atm
Game Integration: None. Build your MPQ patches by yourself!

So yes. No new screenshots this time. The anounced tool will be comand line only and is written in java. At the Moment you only need to pass your OBJ file to it and it will do its work. But soon there will also be an XML-Config file. Its not that I like XML but there just way TO many settings that can be done on a WMO File and pass about 90 parameters by command line would simply not do the deal.

As said the whole code is just an “injector” atm. This means there is no WMO file created from scratch. Of course this wont be the final “state” of the project. But after spending about 3 days in Hex-Editors im still very happy to had choosen this way ^^

Releases
There internal releases for the Beta-Test-Group and everyone that was joining the “Test-Model-Contest” (only 2 ppl ). Anyone else have to wait until the Beta-Testing came to a positive result and hope that I will do a public release.

Comming Soon
The first bunch of self-created models. It is possible, but not sure, that I will spend some time to convert alpha-WMO Files to current ones and release them somehow.

ps: yeayea my english sucks asses today …

Portal 2 vs. Portal 1

I finished playing Portal 2 some days ago. It took approximately 5 hours and was totally worth it. The fact an ‘FPS’ game can be a success without violent shooting scenes and lethal makes stand out from other games that I’ve played.
For me, the most important part of Portal is the plot and the hidden references, rooms and messages. The ending scene on portal 1 was totally epic, and so were the written messages on the walls of hidden rooms.

It is no surprise I actually prefer portal 1 to portal 2. Portal 1 was something special, it was never to become so famous. The developers were allowed to actually think outside the box when making it; which
actually made the game somewhat unique I think. In portal 1 all the hidden rooms were really hidden and not systematically placed – the humor was black and required both ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ thinking. Meanwhile in Portal 2 the secret rooms, other hidden locations and messages do not share quite the same feeling. I think it’s because Portal 2 was made to be a best-seller game – which ofc is, in a way, a good thing: Portal 2 was like four times the length of Portal 1 – However by making Portal 2 a mass-product they totally lost the artistic perspective.

I believe I like Portal 1 better because of it’s atmosphere: the white corridors are similar to ones you see in psychological thrillers and the feeling when you get to look things from behind the walls is simply amazing. Portal 1 does not provide too much of anything which makes you really concentrate to the littlest things on-screen. Also the humor in Portal 2 was not the ‘black’ anymore – again – this is a cause of mass-marketing.
Portal 2 had too much and too little in it at the same time: a lot of new things were introduced but the game focused too much on running through the levels.

This is just my opinion. It could be just me: my background as a dedicated explorer/model editor might actually affect my prefers – I don’t know.
But what I would like to hear now is your opinions. What did you think of portal 1? What about 2? Are you able to say which one you liked better?

Discuss.

Many people are still making gold from glyphs after patch 4.0.1 ? a patch that has been named ?Glyphmas? due to the high amount of gold made from glyphs. Many people have asked what I do to make gold, well not a lot, not a lot different from what most guys do, but let me spill it to you anyways.

Firstly I would like to thank the guys writing blogs about their gold experience in WoW ? one I particularly likes to follow is anaalius? hunt for gold, it is a good blog with loads of info. Thank you.

Bots
What is this, I don?t even? Do you use bots? Yes I use bots and I use many different bots, all depending on what I want to farm. If I want to farm lowlevel stuff (that sell well) then I use my private bot, since it just does a better job than Gather and HonorBuddy. If I want to farm leather or pets then I use HonorBuddy or my personal slave ?xsx?.

The materials that my gatherbots are farming for me have different destinies. The saronite is either flipped over using the saronite shuffle and then ending up as enchanting mats and that way ending their lives as scrolls or raw enchanting mats on the AH. Sometimes the saronite is just made into bars and then sold.

The titanium gathered will be sold raw on the AH, prospected and sold or alternatively made into titansteel bars and sold. All depending on the current market.
Herbs are sold raw when it?s over 28 gold per stack, this way I can sell other mats as well, such as frost lotuses. This naturally depends on how the flasks market is being handled.
Leather is almost always being sold directly on ah, but the market on my server sucks for this.
Fishing, is sleeping with the fishes. 12g per stack NTY

Legit
I currently enjoy playing the auctionhouse a lot. The enchant market is a goldmine and after 4.0.1 specially enchants such as Mongoose are in high demand. (Mongoose can be soloed from Karazhan)
Due to the high demand of Mongoose enchants many of the mats (at least on my server) have gone quite scarce. Greater Planar essence sells for 24g on good days ? if you are selling. This brings me to a new tip.

If your faction have Halaa (in Nagrand) then you should go there and buy ?Arkadian Claymore? and ?The sharp Cookie? from Coreiel. You can only carry one of each so buy them and DE, repeat two times ? this should give you around 10 GBE and a few arcane dust. Total cost for the two weapons (1 round) ~11 gold.

I have found it to be very profitable to buy out all arcane dust (on many servers they are around 3gold per one) and resell it at 14 gold. Usually ends up giving you a good amount of profit.

The return of a good old friend
The last week I have made around 20.000 gold from having an old friend visit me. Not really, but it is an old method that almost all of us used when we hit level 80 and wanted to make gold in early WotLK. Greater Cosmic Essences are going for 29 gold on my server. Sick! It is the good old days back again. You can farm/create these quite easily with the saronite shuffle or cobalt axes or helmets. Pretty epic and you should take advantage of it for as long as you can.

Future (cata)

I have one or two Razzazi Hatchlings put away in guildbank to be posted in 6 ish months when they are no longer in game. Therefore they could receive the same status as the Ruby Shades once sold by Haris Pilton for 5 copper, they were later removed from that vendor and now go for quite a bit on the AH, I have seen them sell at 25.000 gold!!

I will be farming/botting/buying some lowlevel materials for all the people that needs to level new professions in cata. There is a whole goldmine to be made here, something as stupid as ?Turtle Meat? can be sold for 200g per stack due to it being a quest requirement in tanaris iirc.

On another note, the goldcap have been raised to be 1.000.000 gold now that is a new goal

What are you doing to prepare for cata or to improve your gold now?
